Situated opposite the scenic Dubwath Silver Meadows nature reserve, Bassenthwaite Lake Station is a Café in a restored railway station with a full size replica steam train on the former Cockermouth to Keswick line.

Meals are served from 9am until 3pm. Takeaway drinks can be served from 8am.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea aboard the replica Orient Express train. Or pop in at the end of your day or pre-dinner for a delightful 'snifter' in the train or sunshine on the platform!

Our customers can enjoy a short level walk along the platform through the woodland and wild flower meadow or enjoy a peaceful few minutes in the bird hide overlooking the wildlife pond.

Booking is strongly advised. Tables on the train seat four and two. Larger groups will be seated on adjacent tables. It is not possible to guarantee any specific table though we will try and accomodate any special requests.
