Terms and Conditions

  • Must be pre-booked and a valid ticket or voucher presented on the day. No change given for voucher purchases. Any Bassenthwaite Lake Station vouchers can be redeemed.

  • Tickets are non-refundable but it might be possible to transfer to an alternative date on request and subject to availability. We require a minimum notice of 7 days for any transfer requests in order that we can re-sell your original seats.

  • Not suitable for children under 10 years

​

  • Sorry, no dogs on the bus. Dogs must not be left in vehicles while owners are on the tour, especially in warm or extremely cold weather (please leave them at home if you can)

​

  • Seating is on vintage bus seats with a fixed table so elbow and leg room is slightly limited. Most tables seat four people. 

​

  • The afternoon teas are served in a smart souvenir box for guests to take home and are not served on stands, for safety reasons.

​

  • Hot drinks will not be served ‘on the move’ and will be served in disposable mugs with lids prior to departure. 

​

  • Guests with special dietary needs must inform us a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

​

  • This is a set menu and we are unable to accommodate food preferences or swaps. â€‹We can accommodate a Standard diet or Gluten-free or Dairy-free or Vegetarian or Vegan but we are unable to accommodate combinations of the above. Substituted items may not be the same as the standard menu.

  • One drink is included in your ticket price. Choose from Tea, Filter coffee, Cloudy apple or Fresh orange juice.

​

  • There is an alcohol licence and alternative soft drinks can be purchased prior to departure from the station.

​

  • This is a non-stop tour that starts and finishes at Bassenthwaite Lake Station. It is not possible to accommodate alternative pick-up or drop off stops.

​

  • There are no toilet facilities on the bus and guests should use the station facilities prior to departure.

​

  • Guests are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time in order to check in, order drinks and use the facilities.

​

  • Guests who require the wheelchair table must pre-book and arrange this in advance.

​

  • If you have additional accessibility needs we may be able to accommodate these but please contact us in advance of your arrival.

​

  • There is both upstairs and downstairs seating and guests are able to request specific tables when booking. On occasion, we may need to move you to an alternative table in order to accommodate larger groups. However, we will try hard not to do this!

​

  • ​The route is prescribed however we reserve the right to alter or amend it in the event of road closures, incidents or poor weather conditions.

​

  • If we have to cancel the tour due to illness, inclement weather or any other unforeseeable circumstance, you will be given the option to transfer to an alternative date or can opt for a full refund.

Open from 8am for drinks and 9am - 10.30am for eat-in breakfasts. Lunches and Afternoon Teas are served from 11am. Last service from kitchen and for afternoon teas is 3pm. 

From January 2026, we have our own Afternoon Tea double decker bus tour operating from the station. Tickets or gift vouchers can be purchased from the website. Bus tour seats must be booked in advance.
